How the power of the ‘Seer’ screwed over Traitors UK Season 3

When Charlotte became a Traitor in the eighth episode of Traitors UK Season 3, many assumed she would flame out. A business director lying her way through a Welsh accent, many became suspicious of Charlotte early in the game. But in an honest meltdown over the matter, tides turned back in her favour, and she was cleared as what all Traitors want to be seen as — “100% Faithful.”

The dynamic appeared clear. Minah, the last remaining original Traitor, would cut her. Just as she did to all the other women in the turret. From the moment Charlotte joined her in the tower, it was Minah’s game to lose.

But Charlotte had other ideas. She flawlessly floated her way through the remainder of the game, keeping close allies in the castle and banishing those less loyal to her end-game plans.

Then, after seeing through Minah’s banishment without any doubt, she masterfully recruited Freddie onto the scene, just to have him banished immediately after.

Then came a twist. A twist never seen before on the show. One player would have the opportunity of the ‘Seer’. The ‘Seer’ power would grant the player the ability to “ask another player face to face whether they were a Traitor or a Faithful,” in a private dinner scene reminiscent of a date on The Bachelor.

Her closest ally, Frankie, in an attempt to find herself a Faithful to go to the end of the game with, chose the player she thought was most clear. She chose Charlotte.

And Charlotte, a “cleared Faithful” by nearly all, then had to have her game ripped up in front of her. All in the blink of an eye. There was no lying. There was no way around it. Charlotte’s role had to be revealed to Frankie as a Traitor. And there was nothing she could do about it in the aftermath except deny, deny, deny — and go down swinging.

The Seer twist didn’t just expose Charlotte — it removed the very skill that defines Traitors: deception.

She went down swinging, oh boy, yes she did. But it was not enough. The twist of the ‘Seer’ power screwed her over, and she was banished without a second to celebrate her masterful second half of the season as a Traitor.

Charlotte might not have won the season, but she certainly put on a clinic in her short time as a Traitor, likely going down as one of the best recruited Traitors the UK has ever seen. Unfortunately, we’ll never truly know how great she could have been.
